Zoe is a proud Navy veteran that has lived in Grayslake, Illinois since she was active duty military stationed at Great Lakes Naval Station in 2009 - 2012. Her military service began in the wake of 9/11 and included deployments onboard aircraft carriers USS DWIGHT D EISENHOWER and USS JOHN C STENNIS, participating in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom as an Aviation Electronics Technician. She then was screened and selected to serve as a Recruit Division Commander at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, the Navy’s only Boot Camp. During her time at RTC, she was awarded a Navy Commendation Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and certified as a Master Training Specialist.

After 11 years of honorable service, Zoe earned her MBA from the University of Redlands and a second Master’s Degree in Global Supply Chain Management from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. She now is at Siemens Smart Infrastructure as a Senior Training Specialist. Zoe instructs technicians, engineers, and end users on how to maintain, troubleshoot and repair large-scale smart infrastructure and building automation equipment. She has earned her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt through USC and is in the process of her PMP certification.

Zoe maintains a high-level of service to her local community as a Trustee on the Grayslake Village Board, a member of VFW Grayslake Post 2245, and serves as a Woman Veteran Ambassador for Lake County with Illinois Joining Forces (IJF).  On a nationwide scale, Zoe entered the Ms. Veteran America Competition and won as Ms. Veteran America 2019 Second Runner-Up. MVA is an organization that advocates for the eradication of women veteran homelessness.

Additionally, she serves on the board of directors for Keeping Families Covered (formerly known as Twice as Nice Mother & Child), a Lake County non-profit that identifies diaper need, provides baby essentials and period supplies for families in need.

In her personal life, Zoe is married to Michael J. Magnetta, a retired US Navy Command Master Chief, has two stepchildren (Steven and Lauren) and three beautiful grandchildren (Haylen, Harper, Henry). She loves spending time with her family, running outdoors, and helping others.
